Baptisms - July 2024

This has been an interesting and fruitful spring at A Ray of Hope, they are not all like that.  On July 14th I baptized 8 guests, all of whom are serious about getting right and living right with their Savior.  I am always focused on helping our guests make a life and eternity changing decision, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are ready.  This spring, by God’s grace, I wandered into a whole covey of eager and ready people.

Two had been talking to others and were ready to commit to the Lord.  One who had been working with Goodwill Easter Seals in our office for years, was an avowed atheist.  He said he saw Christ in our shelter and wanted what he saw, he is now experiencing Christ in his own heart.  One, came right out at our Bible study and asked me how he could have the Lord’s joy in his heart.  The Lord laid one guest on my heart, and I told him that I thought the Lord wanted to save his soul, and he replied that he had come to the same conclusion.  God is amazing!  There are a few others who didn’t know the Gospel, but upon hearing it, they wanted to get right with their Lord.

There is no greater joy than seeing people turn to their Creator, bowing their knee and asking Him to save their souls.  And there is no greater joy than seeing them look to God in study and searching for answers in turning their lives around.

“…Go, and sin no more.”, is simple and yet challenging, but I see humble and contrite hearts pursuing this charge.  We do have our challenges, but the joy I see in many of our guests and daily seeking God for His way and heart, has got to bring a joy to His heart.  It sure brings joy to mine!  Dave

On this day that I am reborn into the likeness of God, I would like to say that I walk into it with both fear and faith. I fear the things that I do not know and maybe cannot understand about my future. But I have faith that I will overcome challenges. I would like to say that even in this world there are things that I do not understand but I have the courage to move forward.  I pray all the time for all that I love.
