My Journey to A Ray of Hope
Hello! My name is Daniel and for the past 5 ½ months, I have been a guest of A Ray of Hope. I thought that for those who might be interested, I would share some of my story on my journey from rock bottom to salvation and hope. I was born in South Georgia to a very loving mother, rest her soul and unfortunately, an absentee, alcoholic and drug addict father. My parents divorced when I was 6 or 7 and my mother was left to do her best to raise my brother and I alone. Thanks to

December 2025 Reflections From Dave’s Corner Of The World
One thing I have found over the years of teaching God’s Word, is that I need to define words or principles, because satan likes to distort things. Success is found in God’s Spirit and Truth, and our failures arise from deviating from God’s ways. God designed and created our universe and He advises us on how to walk and live it. Let’s face it: we live in a fallen world, through no fault of our Creator, but of our own doing. God is gracious here, continually seeking us out

A Second Chance
In 2018, I was living in Washington headed for a not-so-bright future. I was in and out of jail and my son (10 years old) was living with my mom while I was in a tent nearby. In April 2018, I was incarcerated and my son's dad decided to come from Montana and pick him up. 4 days later, my mom died. It took me the better part of the month to realize that I was no one without my son, so I moved to Montana. With only a backpack full of clothes and nowhere to go, I just knew that

The Corvette Raffle Adventures
The Corvette Raffle Adventure is over for A Ray of Hope, but it continues for the winner! I know everyone with a ticket in that bucket had hoped to drive that vehicle home, but one blessed person got to do it. I meant to drive that vehicle at least once before we turned it over, but never got around to it. Procrastination costs! In last month’s newsletter, I shared how discouraged I had been with the task of A Ray of Hope selling the remaining 280 tickets at $100 each in

November 2025 Reflections From Dave's Corner of the World
We received another vehicle donation. Actually, we have received a few of them recently, but don’t worry, I think we’re raffled out for a while! We actually receive several vehicle donations in a given year, and I must say it’s fun, because it seems like most of them are tailored for someone specific who we know has a need for it. We talk about these cars at our staff meetings- we just have to smile and laugh at how God does this- He’s amazingly creative! This vehicle is

The Corvette Raffle Adventure
Have you ever gotten yourself into something that started out with a few quick decisions; then, as things progressed, you look back and wonder, How did I get into this? I’m in one of those situations, and it’s turning into a real adventure. A very generous donor gave a 1996 Corvette, a beautiful hardtop convertible, to A Ray of Hope a few months ago. My first hope was that he was donating it so I could use it as a ministry vehicle. I knew better than that, but I had to

October 2025 Reflections From Dave’s Corner Of The World
Last month I wrote about finding Joy, and how we find joy through Matthew 5:6: “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” The Greek word for “filled” means “an abundance”, or to “be satisfied”. Can you imagine living life in a satisfied, filled, and joyful state? I will say I’m much closer than I was before I first turned to the Lord, but I still let life’s challenges or fleshly desires get me down or distracted here and t
