Baptism-My Story

Matthew 28:19-20 (HCSB)
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always until the end of the age.
In my humble opinion, baptism is a public display and confession of accepting the Father God, believing 100% in the life, death, and resurrection of the Son, Jesus Christ, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a gift we receive through Jesus Christ, from our Father, to guide, comfort, and teach us.
Now, by being baptized, the old me is gone (dead), and the new has come (alive).
2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.
Through the confession of my sins, I sincerely ask for forgiveness of my sins, believing wholeheartedly I am forgiven. Being cleansed (baptized), I can now live in Christ's love. I am now called to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Teaching others to observe what he has commanded us.
I am not to do this by just reading scripture and reciting scripture. I am called to be an example by being Christlike in everything I do.
James 1:22 (HCSB)
Be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
I know God is with me always and he will never leave me.
Hebrews 13:5-6 (KJV)
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may BOLDLY say, the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Therefore, Dear Father, who art in heaven, I thank you for teaching me the truth about Jesus Christ, showing me the way (your way), and giving me life.
I pray that I look to you for guidance in everything I do. I pray for wisdom to share with others. I pray for life for those who are living in death.
In Jesus Christ’s holy name, Amen.
