Both Sides of the Fence

My life has been likened unto a fence. On one side of the fence, I was a homeowner and successful business man. I was an active member of a congregation for over 10 years and a supporter of A Ray of Hope. On this side of the fence was a 19-year marriage and 2 wonderful children. Wow, what a fence!
The other side of the fence resembles my current life. I am a guest at A Ray of Hope. Reflecting back on my life, I see the clear effects of mind-altering substance abuse, detrimental pride and selfishness accompanied with denial. There was a desire to die and a separation from God. This side of the fence was unprotected with a denial of Jesus.
A Ray of Hope fulfilled my need by providing a safe environment, I felt I did not deserve. I had to willingly confess my sin that was causing the collateral damage of pain and confusion. Immediately, A Ray of Hope instilled value through God’s perspective.
Since becoming a grateful guest, I have confessed my sin against my God. He has forgiven me my sin through Jesus. Just today I put down the old man, by exercising my measure of faith.
My fence today has had much prep work and repair to both sides. Your support is what makes this environment possible. When I say thank you, I say it to you and to Jesus from whom all good gifts come from.
